Eastern Lycoming Y Hits Building Speed Bump

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Eastern Lycoming YMCA in Williamsport, PA, needs to raise about $1.5 million after bids for its new facility came in more than $2 million above the architect’s original estimate, according to The Williamsport Sun-Gazette.

The original estimate for building the new YMCA facility was $6.5 million. The bids that were opened pushed that cost to about $8.4 million. Total cost of the new building is $11.2 million. The proposed 47,000-square-foot Y would include a fitness center, swimming pool, gymnasium and running track.
