JCC Raises $85 Million for Proposed Campus

PALO ALTO, CA -- The Jewish Community Center is proposing to build a new campus on an 8.5 acre site in a busy area of Palo Alto, CA. The $240 million project will include a community center, two swimming pools, playing field, meeting rooms, a cultural hall, café, preschool and 193 independent and assisted living units for seniors. The JCC has been planning the project for more than four years, and construction could begin in spring 2007. The Jewish Community Endowment Fund of San Francisco, the Pennisula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, recently awarded a $10 million grant to the JCC, which has raised $85 million and needs an additional $65 million in donations.
