Florida YMCA Undergoes Expansion

VENICE, FL -- The 55,000-square-foot South County Family YMCA invested more than $389,000 in new fitness equipment and plans to celebrate its grand reopening in mid-February. As part of the two-story expansion, the first floor will feature two new racquetball courts, three group exercise studios and two massage therapy rooms. The building will also feature 114 pieces of cardio and cross training equipment as well as an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a 15-person hot tub. The existing YMCA buildings will be used for children’s preschool and summer school programs.
