Illinois JCC Eliminates Adult Fitness

SKOKIE, IL — A steady decline in adult fitness memberships and insufficient community fundraising efforts forced the Mayer Kaplan Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Skokie, IL, to cut back its programming.

Effective July 1, the JCC will no longer offer adult fitness or aquatic programs and will eliminate its children's swimming lessons. Adult members will be able to visit other local JCCs or rec centers or get refunds on unused months on their JCC memberships.

A Jewish Federation allocation will allow the JCC to continue to offer children's programming.
