Humana Offers Free Silver Sneakers Membership to Medicare Enrollees

CINCINATTI, OH—Humana, a health benefits company with 9.3 million members, is offering free membership in the Silver Sneakers fitness program to its 2.6 million Medicare prescription drug plan enrollees until Dec. 31. The company currently offers an exercise program and free memberships at participating fitness facilities to its Medicare Advantage enrollees through Silver Sneakers. The membership includes use of exercise equipment, specialized classes for older adults and use of swimming pools, hot tubs and saunas. According to a Humana release, the free membership offer does not apply to Humana members in Alaska, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington and Washington, D.C.
