Lifetime Achievement Award Goes to Alan Schwartz

CHICAGO -- Alan Schwartz, chairman of TCA Holdings Inc., will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from Club Industry’s Fitness Business Pro magazine on Oct. 11 at the Club Industry show in Chicago. This is the fifth year that the magazine has presented the award, which goes to an individual who has contributed to the betterment of the fitness industry.

Schwartz co-founded Midtown Tennis Club in Chicago with his father, Kevie, in 1969. Later, he expanded the business to encompass ownership and management of multi-purpose and corporate fitness centers throughout North America. The company, now called TCA Holdings, has four divisions: Proactive Partners, which manages corporate centers and wellness programs; Columbia Equities, a real estate and health club investment company; Tennis Corporation of America, which develops and licenses tennis products and programs; and Midtown Athletic Clubs, which manages the company’s sports and fitness clubs.
