Keynote Speaker Changes at Club Industry

The focus of the second keynote presentation at the Club Industry 2007 Conference and Exhibition has shifted from medical wellness to sustainability. Phillip Mills, CEO of Les Mills, will be the keynote speaker at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, according to Zari Stahl, show director for Club Industry 2007.

Dr. Mike Nichols, CEO and founder of TempusClinic, was originally scheduled to deliver the second keynote address but had to cancel for personal reasons.

Mills will speak about sustainability and how health clubs should accept the challenge and the opportunity of embracing the “green” agenda.

“In doing so, we will keep faith with our role of helping people change their lives for the better,” he says. “We will also connect with a rising groundswell of public concern about the state of the planet and create a more powerful relationship with current and prospective members.”

Mills will discuss how greening their facilities will enable club owners to become effective advocates for sustainability and how they can influence their members to embrace the cause and take meaningful action on their own.
