Idaho State Plans Addition to Rec Center

POCATELLO, ID – Idaho State University will take construction bids next month for a proposed $6.3 million addition to the school’s student recreation center.

Plans for the addition include a fitness center, multipurpose rooms, lounges and administrative offices. Work on the two-level expansion could start this spring, and the addition could be ready by the fall of 2009.

The school began collecting student fee money, which will pay for the addition, in 2003.

Students had rejected one proposed addition that included an Olympic-size swimming pool that would have cost about $22 million.
