Soldier Dies During Physical Fitness Training

FORT DRUM, NY -- A Fort Drum, NY, soldier collapsed during physical fitness training and died on Nov. 20 at the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY. The cause of death is under investigation, according to a statement from the Army.

James Weber, a native of Spring Hope, NC, was assigned to the Division Special Troops Battalion and served as a forward observer. The 25-year-old entered the Army in February and completed his basic and advanced training at Fort Sill, OK. He was assigned to Fort Drum in July.
