NJ Delays Sales Tax Refund Bill

TRENTON, NJ – A New Jersey bill that would exempt fitness clubs from a 7 percent sales tax and would give club members a refund for sales tax they’ve paid on memberships has been delayed. A vote on the bill was scheduled for March 8.

Gov. Jon Corzine expressed concerns about for-profit clubs getting a tax break but does support repealing the sales tax for nonprofit clubs, according to the Express-Times.
