SANTA RITA, GUAM -- Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, personnel and civilians enjoyed a day of sports and camaraderie while learning about staying healthy at the third annual Right Spirit Fair held earlier this month at U.S. Naval Base Guam. The event featured basketball, volleyball and other competitions held outside Charles King Gym (CKG).

CKG group fitness instructors held workout demonstrations with stationary bikes and other gym equipment. In addition, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) representatives spoke with attendees about ongoing activities and upcoming events.

Local and military guests were invited to bridge the gap between the communities and help make people more aware of how to prevent or stop drinking, smoking and other unhealthy behaviors, says Michelle Johnson, cryptologic technician technical 1st class.

“Our sailors and airmen are always trying to get involved with the community, and this is one of the ways we figured we’d get that connection going,” she says of the event.
