Lifestyle Family Fitness CEO Steps Down

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Todd Bright has stepped down as the CEO of Lifestyle Family Fitness, St. Petersburg, FL.

Geoff Dyer, Lifestyle Family Fitness founder and vice chairman, says Bright left the company to pursue missionary work on behalf of his church. John Simmons, a Lifestyle Family Fitness board member, is the company’s new CEO.

Bright was elected president of the company three years ago and had been the CEO for about 18 months. Dyer says he tried to talk Bright out of the decision, but added that Bright left for all the right reasons.

“Todd, for the last half of his life, has dedicated himself to his church,” Dyer says. “His purpose in life has been to give back to others. He has been spending more and more of his free time working with other families and counseling them. He’s an amazing guy. He’s a unique individual.”

Simmons had recruited Bright to Lifestyle from Eckerd Drugs, where Simmons had served as chief financial officer while Bright was a vice president there. Simmons has served on the Lifestyle board for seven years.

“He’ll be a great fit for the company,” Dyer says of Simmons. “He understands the business model and has a thorough understanding about business.”
